Technology & Specialty
3D scanning, laser dentistry, sleep apnea treatment, oral surgery, TMJ therapy, and other specialty services — available in-office in Centennial Hills.
Some dental problems need tools or expertise beyond what a general practice typically carries. At Centennial Family Dentistry, we’ve built out a range of specialty and technology-forward services so patients can handle more in one place — fewer referrals, fewer schedules to juggle.
Imaging and diagnostics
3D CT scanning. A cone-beam CT scan produces a three-dimensional image of teeth, jawbone, nerves, and sinuses. We use it primarily for implant planning, where exact bone position matters. The scan takes about a minute and exposes patients to less radiation than a conventional medical CT.
Digital scanners. We take digital impressions instead of putty trays. The scan is faster, more accurate, and more comfortable — and the file transfers directly to our CEREC mill or to a lab.
Intraoral cameras. A small camera on a wand lets patients see what we see inside their mouth. It makes it easier to show — rather than just describe — what’s happening with a particular tooth.
Dental x-rays. Digital radiographs are part of our standard diagnostic toolkit across all service categories.
Specialty services
Sleep apnea treatment. For patients with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea, a custom oral appliance worn at night can keep the airway open by repositioning the jaw. It’s an alternative to CPAP for those who struggle with the machine. We work with physicians on diagnosis; the appliance fitting and follow-up are done here.
TMJ therapy. Jaw pain, clicking, difficulty opening your mouth, and chronic headaches can all trace back to the temporomandibular joint. We assess the joint, discuss what’s driving the symptoms, and offer conservative treatment options including custom occlusal guards.
Oral surgery. We handle a range of oral surgery cases in-office, including bone grafting, difficult extractions, and pre-implant site preparation.
Bone grafting. When a tooth is extracted, the surrounding bone can shrink. A bone graft placed at the time of extraction preserves the site. This matters if an implant is in the plan.
Laser dentistry. We use dental lasers for certain soft-tissue procedures. Lasers can reduce the need for sutures and tend to heal faster than conventional incisions.
Oral cancer screening. We screen for early signs of oral cancer at every comprehensive exam.
Comfort options
Nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) takes the edge off anxiety and wears off within minutes of stopping. It’s available for most procedures and is a good option for patients who want to stay alert and drive home afterward.
Oral sedation. For patients with more significant dental anxiety, an oral sedative taken before the appointment produces a deeper state of relaxation. You’ll need a ride, but most patients remember very little of the appointment.
If you have a specific concern — jaw pain, a snoring issue, a need for implant planning — call us at (702) 385-7415. We’ll tell you upfront whether it’s something we handle in-house or whether a referral makes more sense. Our office is on Ann Road in Centennial Hills, near the 215 Beltway.
